Reflecting on a great year. 1  1)  An elusive ancestor I found was, none this year. I mostly added new information, to the ones I have. 2   2)     A great newspaper article I found was a small piece that commented on the passing of my uncle Thomas J Abberton, in World War 2. It was in the Forbes paper and said that he could yodel. 3    3)  A geneajourney I took was a road trip to Ballarat, Victoria. While I was there I searched rate notice books, tramped the cemetery and wandered the street where they lived. 4    4)  An important record I found was the Scottish 1841 census, for Samuel Galbraith. Inching back further in time. 5     5)  A newly found family member shared ,  he is an old family member but we had lost touch. He shared trial information about our mutual ancestor, Simon Grant.     6       6)  A geneasurprise I received was ...

I arrived home Thursday morning, after the looooooong flight. It was smoother than the flight over and made sleeping easier. It was wonderful to see my darling husband and get a cuddle. We had breakfast out and then our youngest daughter and family came for lunch. Lots of lovely cuddles with Hannah. Things are getting back to 'normal' now and I've managed to get two good nights sleep. I've even added the new family details, I found about Samuel to the tree. I'll blog more, later. It has been a while since I last did a blog, sorry. We had a lovely weekend,  Mother's Day, at Kangaroo Valley and I woke up Monday with a sore throat. The rest of the week passed, with me feeling very blah and not doing much. I did finish my National Institute of Genealogical Studies, subject Australian Newspapers and got 100% in the exam. The subject was really interesting and I learnt new things and had others re-enforced. I am still loving the course. Still not feeling well and now I have a 'fantastic' cough, that really gets me going. Think a warm bed and a good book are in my future. Bye for now and stay well, Lilian

Still having issues with the laptop but at least I am home and can upload the photos. Congress name tag and my first set of blogger beads. Jill Ball provided all the bloggers, she knew with beads, this way we could identify fellow bloggers. The Congress satchel and what was inside. The program was invaluable as with four concurrent sessions, over four different rooms, it kept you on track. I saw a number of people who had highlighted their choices.
