Today for my friends from the USA, I have found an article on your Independence Day, in The International Socialist, (Sydney, NSW, 1910-1920), Saturday 6 July 1912, page 3. (A bit tongue in cheek.)   Happy Independence Day! Bye, Lilian. 

2016,   what has happened, this year? Plenty of travel both together and just me. January and we made a trip to Canberra, for my birthday. February and I made my first trip to the USA and attended RootsTech,   in Salt Lake City. I was joined by our daughter and together we did Las Vegas, Grand  Canyon, San Francisco and Los Angeles. April, we enjoyed a few days at Windsor and explored the area. May saw us head to Melbourne and family time. September and I attended a conference in Camden.   We then flew to Cairns for a family holiday, Fantastic. October and we were of to Adelaide. Family, friends and genealogy made up that trip. December and our Christmas trip to Melbourne. I have continued my study, doing three subjects form the University of Tasmania,   as well as my Diploma course with the National Institute of Genealogical Studies.  I have nearly finished this course, with just five subjects to go.                                                           SEARCHING. As a genealogist I am always searching, Searching for lost 'important' pieces of paper, lost photos, you know how it is. When I got back from the USA, I couldn't find my pincushion and spent a great deal of time searching for that. Found it on the flatbed of my sewing machine! I also plan most of  my searches. In Salt Lake City is the Family History Library. Run by the Latter Days Saints, (Mormons), it is wonderful but to far to go, without a search plan.  Well before I left Sydney I searched online, at FamilySearch.org  for my ancestors. Having 'found' them I made detailed notes of what I needed to view, either book...
