A City-cation.

At the beginning of July Paul and I spent three nights at the Mantra on Bond Street. We had a Light Rail stop at the door, Circular Quay, two blocks away, with ferry terminals. Eleven floors up, we looked south along George Street.  We had a one bedroom, split-level, self contained apartment. Friday saw us drop of the bags and walk to Circular Quay and take the ferry to Watson's Bay. We had wanted to do the South Head walk, but the wind was whistling up the harbour and clouds scudding by we opted out of the walk. We walked along the water front, several street and across Camp Cove beach. Looking back up the harbour the views were beautiful. Watson's Bay Looking back towards the City. Camp Cove. Camp Cove. A Day In The City

Image
After a day spent, in the garden on Saturday, spreading top dressing on the lawn, we gave ourselves the day off and went into Sydney, for something to do. First stop was the bookstore Dymocks, where I did some shopping for a birthday and Christmas. I also picked up a copy of Rachael Johns' new book, The Greatest Gift. Delicious Danishes, hot coffee and hot chocolate and quiet atmosphere. Lovely. www.chryslercafebar.com/    From there we walked up Martin Place and found a Tesla shop and I got to have a good look at one. While it might be good for city driving I would need one, maybe two charging stops and a trip to Melbourne. Loved the colour, didn't like the LARGE centre console ...

Something I hadn't done in a long time. The Pool of Reflection was calm and I was able to take some lovely shots. The Obelisk. Built in 1857. War Memorial. Reflection. When Lorraine arrived she handed me a sheet of paper, with the morning activity outlined. It was a  Cupcake & Dessert Walking Tour of Sydney. Yum! These are run by foodi.com.au  and they have five different tours to select from. Our first stop was Cupcakes on Pitt. I had a Tiramisu cupcake and Lorraine had a Honeycomb one. This macaroon tower was at our third stop and the macaroons were delicious.  We had two more stops before the Queen Victoria Building stop. This was for fresh fruit dipped in chocolate! Re...
