Lilian's Tree

Charlotte.   Charlotte holds a special place on my tree, being my 2x great-grandmother. You can read about her here Charlotte The name Charlotte is a French form of the Italian name Carlotta, with the English being Charles. It has been in English-speaking use from the 17th century. Lottie and Charley are two variants commonly used. Famous Charlotte's are,  Charlotte Bronte, author. Charlotte Rampling, UK actress. Princess Charlotte, (1796 -1817), granddaughter of George 111.

                                                  Wrapping Up My Vaughans. Last week was the end of my Family Fridays' about my Vaughan family. I still have questions  that need answers, people to find and facts to check but I think I've done all I can, at the moment, on the family. Henry Vaughan Snr, is still my focus and between Gail Sutton and I we have spent hours narrowing down his arrival. We think, (more checking needed), that we have him, as a convict and that he was married in England. We have evidence that he was in contact, with his family, in England, so it would be logical to conclude that he waited until he had word that his wife died, before marrying Charlotte.                                                      William Vaughan. Well, William, are you going to give me as much fun as your big brother, Henry Edward did? I don’t think so. Someone has already done a great deal of research into this family and I found it on Ancestry. I haven’t looked at it fully because I didn’t want to be distracted, when looking for you. So William Nathaniel Vaughan, born 1843, to Henry and Charlotte. You are their third child, second son and the second child to live, well done.
