Remember to Accentuate the Positive
Every year Jill Ball reminds us to Accentuate the Positive, usually genealogy related, this year Jill has given us a series of prompts to use. Here are my responses.
Remember to Accentuate the Positive
2025 Prompts
1. I treasured, spending time with our family this
year, all 10 of us together for our wedding anniversary.
2. I shared photos and stories with the newly found
family.
3. I travelled; this year we travelled. Started the
year with a trip to Victoria and ended the year with a trip to Victoria. In
between, seven nights on the Murray Princess, a seven-day outback safari, we
got as far as Cameron Corner. Time at Nelson Bay and the Hunter Valley. Other
short stays as well. Very few months when we were home for the whole month.
4. I learnt how to use WeAre.xyz and have put my
One-Place Study onto it.
5. I changed from using Adobe for pdf files and
started using I LOVE PDF. Still learning it but I was sick of paying for Adobe.
6. I received a USB with photos I was able to use for
my One-Place Study as well as other useful information.
7. I conquered, I don’t think I conquered anything
huge, this year. I’ve studied a subject and the passed the exam, with my Moore
College PTC course and started a second subject. I did master WeAre.xyz and am
learning new ways to do things with it.
8. I found, some more family through DNA. They helped
solve a mystery.
9. I taught a wide range of classes, presented at
the FHNSWACT conference in September. Gave a talk for the Wyong Family History
Group.
10. I cried too much. In 14 days in September, I had four
deaths.
11. I was proud of our two Eldest Granddaughters. Both
graduated from University in December. One with a double degree in Engineering (Civil)
and Business (Management). The other with Media and Communication.
12. I read 101 books for my Goodreads Challenge. Two that
stand out are Nathan Dylan Goodwin’s The Hop-Picker Murders. His best, so far.
The Forever Witness: How Genetic Genealogy Solved a Cold Case Double Murder by
Edward Humes. It was a 30-year-old cold
case of a teenage couple. Very interesting reading.
If you want to see what I have read, this year, just search
this blog for the months and see the posts.
Thanks so much for rising to the challenge Lilian. You've add a super year I'd love to hear more about your Moore College course.
