Looking Back on 2025.
Back at the start of the year I pondered what 2025 would bring, this was my list;
A BIG birthday for me. Yep, birthdays happen. I spent it in Melbourne, with family having had a family lunch in Sydney as well.
Hubby will have been retired 10 years in May. Happened while we were on the Murray River cruise.
He has a semi-big birthday. We celebrated with a dinner out, just the two of us.
We celebrate 50 years of marriage. Wonderful celebration in the City with all our family.
Murray River Cruise. This was so relaxing, but we came home with colds.
Outback Safari. A really great trip, just us and a driver exploring New South Wales, as far as Broken Hill.
Trip to Melbourne and Canberra. Ended up with two trips to Melbourne, my birthday and and then for Christmas. The first trip we added Canberra to the trip home.
Trip to Canberra, with Miss 9. Girls time away! Had a ball! What happens with Grandma, says with Grandma!
Several speaking engagements booked in. Ended up with more, and I really enjoyed giving my presentations.
Hosting the Writing Group for the Society of Australian Genealogists, several times. Ended up being for the year, I enjoyed doing it.
Thinking about a road-trip. Added a road trip to the start of our trip to Melbourne, for Christmas. Explored more of the southern part of the state.
Doing the A -Z Blogging Challenge in April. Fun but taxing to think up things etc. starting with each letter. I did places in New South Wales.
Working on my One-Place Study. Nearly finished the main data-base and will do potted bios of most of the people buried there. Discovered WeAre.xyz and had put my One-Place Study onto it. It has potted biographies of the people, family trees and photos. Thrilled with how it has worked out.
I've started the Goodreads challenge for 2025, with my total set at 100 books for the year. This year I'm going to try and read a book, each month that either starts with the letter of the month or the author's surname starts with that letter. Just a bit of a challenge, with in a challenge. I Read 101 books, across a range of genres. I did find either an author or a title with each months letter. Some months were difficult and friends offered authors for me to try.
2025 was a good year, apart from colds we have been well and are looking towards 2026.
I've still kept a journal this year and have purchased a HP Sprocket printer. It prints little photos and they have a sticky back and I add then to the journal.
