A City-cation.

At the beginning of July Paul and I spent three nights at the Mantra on Bond Street. We had a Light Rail stop at the door, Circular Quay, two blocks away, with ferry terminals. Eleven floors up, we looked south along George Street.

We had a one bedroom, split-level, self contained apartment.

Friday saw us drop of the bags and walk to Circular Quay and take the ferry to Watson's Bay. We had wanted to do the South Head walk, but the wind was whistling up the harbour and clouds scudding by we opted out of the walk. We walked along the water front, several street and across Camp Cove beach. Looking back up the harbour the views were beautiful.

We meandered back to the ferry terminal and then across the park to a cafe for morning tea. Catching the bus back to the city, we alighted between Hyde Park South and North. It was a lovely stroll through Hyde Park, North to St James and then into Pitt Street Mall.

I did some shopping at the Lego store in Pitt Street, some flowers for me and a birthday present for a little one.

Haighs Chocolates in the Strand Arcade was next and we selected our chocolate and tasted some.

Dymocks bookshop was next, as I can't resist a browse to see what is new or different. Yes a book was purchased.

Walking back to the hotel, we found where we had a dinner reservation, so that we didn't have to rush later.

Catching us with Rachel Franks, for dinner we went to the Aroma of Indonesia, in Barrack Place. We hadn't tried Indonesian before and it was delicious, with just the right amount of spice to enhance the flavour of the food. The service was excellent and we weren't rushed to finish our meals and leave.

We walked Rachel to the Light Rail stop and then walked back to the hotel. The City was very busy and we enjoyed the walk.
